A pop icon of the Louis Vuitton wardrobe, this Alma bag is a rare piece born from the meeting of French tradition and Japanese boldness.
Enhanced by the irreverent brush of Takashi Murakami, this Alma model reinterprets one of the greatest classics of the Louis Vuitton House through an explosion of colors and influences. Made of Multicolore Monogram canvas on a white background — an exclusive creation launched in 2003 and now discontinued — this bag stands out for its bold chromatic brilliance, accentuated by studded natural leather and golden finishes. This dialogue between heritage and modernity gives birth to a lively, joyful, and perfectly identifiable silhouette.
Its rigid studded base in natural leather, structured double handles, and golden zip closure testify to the artisanal know-how of Louis Vuitton. The interior, lined with intense burgundy suede, reveals a practical flat pocket, accompanied by the manufacturing code FL0054, certifying production in May 2004 in the French workshops of the House. This bag is signed with the discreet mention “VLV” embossed on the handle attachment, a cryptic nod to its authenticity.
A cult model, a true collector's item for fashion enthusiasts and contemporary art lovers.

Heritage & Culture
L'Alma, a classic reinvented by the Murakami era
From Parisian elegance to Japanese irony: an iconic stylistic mutation of 2000s fashion. Originally launched in 1934 by Gaston-Louis Vuitton, the Alma model embodies the architectural elegance of the Belle Époque. Inspired by the structure of the Alma bridge in Paris, this rigid and elegant bag was adopted from its beginnings by style icons, from Jackie Kennedy to Audrey Hepburn. But it was in 2003 that the Alma entered a new era: Marc Jacobs, then artistic director of Louis Vuitton, invited Takashi Murakami to reinterpret the iconic Monogram canvas. The result is a revolution: a palette of 33 vibrant colors on a black or white background, bringing a pop, playful, and decidedly contemporary reading of the Vuitton heritage.
The success was immediate, driven by figures such as Paris Hilton and Naomi Campbell, symbols of a decade where luxury and pop culture intertwine. This collaboration — one of the most significant in fashion history — continued until 2015, when Louis Vuitton ended the production of the Multicolore Monogram, solidifying its status as a collector's item.
A work in motion
The artistic vision of Takashi Murakami for Louis Vuitton
Between art and fashion, a radical fusion of French know-how and Japanese Superflat aesthetics. Takashi Murakami is not a pattern illustrator: he is a master of cultural appropriation. Founder of the artistic movement Superflat, which deliberately blurs the boundaries between high art and popular culture, he collaborates with Louis Vuitton to inject into his canvases a visual universe rich in meaning. The Multicolore Monogram, far from being a simple chromatic variation, then becomes the medium for a reflection on consumption, visibility, and the appropriation of luxury codes.
His Alma reinvents the iconic rigidity of the original bag by giving it an almost animated vitality. Each Monogram flower, each LV symbol unfolds like a colored note in a graphic kaleidoscope. The natural leather, true to the heritage of the House, serves as a noble counterpoint to this visual effervescence. This contrast between artisanal mastery and creative boldness perfectly embodies the spirit of Louis Vuitton: to convey excellence while embracing the avant-garde.
